Amazing trip, excellent way to see Jamaica's countryside and nature. It was a private trip so only 2 of us, this was great as it gave us some flexibility on what time to leave YS Falls. Drive took about 2 hours to get to the Black River, mainly due to potholes in road but they are resurfacing so journey time will start to decrease. Roads are winding in places so if you are prone to car sickness you might find the journey difficult although I am sure the driver would have stopped if we had asked. Take your own water for the journey. Our tour organiser/driver was great and told us a lot about Jamaica.Black River Safari: Our first stop and the highlight of the trip. Must have seen about 6 female crocs and 1 male. The scenery is breathtaking. Our guide was really knowledgable and showed us nesting birds and plant life whilst searching for crocs.The Black River was in the path of Hurricane Melissa so there was a lot of damage in the St Elizabeth area. The safari is recovering well, bathrooms are clean/modern and they are constructing a restaurant currently. You will be able to buy cold drinks but not a lot else currently so plan to eat at YS Falls.YS Falls: Basic changing rooms (no fee), good quality food available and plenty of pic nic tables both under cover and in the open. Take plenty of sunscreen and a towel.Views are amazing, you can walk up wooden steps beside the falls and there are a few seating areas on route if you need to get shade or take a break. The falls are not that high so it doesn't take long to get to the top. If you can't manage steps you can get amazing views from the bottom and use the swimming pools. We went mid May, it wasn't busy which made the whole experience better.

BOOK THIS FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND THE REASONABLE PRICE!! The driver was very professional, informative and polite to me and my friends. I have to say this was one of the best experiences of my trip. Stone was the instructor of the tour. He himself was very professional. He made sure to tell me and my friend about the river and how many miles it. He explained how the limestone works for your skin and the benefits of it. He was also as great photographer and made sure to capture great moments. I have to say the patience of the tour crew was EXTRAORDINARY!!! the experience and professionalism was very impressive. 100/10. BTW Wear water shoes it’s slippery!

Thank you for an incredible experience at Appleton Estate! Our guide, Shanice, was warm, friendly and so knowledgeable! And the food in the restaurant was excellent! The rum tasting was also a fantastic experience and tasting the different varieties was definitely a learning experience. I had no idea that the tastes could be so different and our guide did a great job explaining the flavor profiles. We also decided to taste the 15 and 21 year aged rums and fell in love with both of them! We purchased the 21 year old rum and look forward to savoring it in the future!! Anyone visiting Jamaica should make it a priority to visit Appleton Estate. The Floyd's Pelican Bar is such a great place. From the boat trip over to the food, music and experience this is so well worth doing.When visit Jamaica use Jamaica Mesmerizing Tours as your transportation and guide.

as an FYI, this does not include your entry to the hummingbird sanctuary. you will need cash for the entry. this is an additional 30usd PP. as for the hummingbird place.. its a MUST do for someone who loves animals or birds. it was fantastic... As for the driver, we had a great experience. he talked about things we passed and we were able to ask questions. he offered alternate places to stop but we were not interested. he did stop at a mural wall we asked about so we could take some photos. He was super patient while we spent a lot of time with the hummingbirds. did not rush us at all. car was clean and i would recommend.

This experience was a one of a kind! They have food and drinks available for purchase. I ordered the garlic shrimp and my friend had the fried chicken. Both were very good! We also ordered "The Pelican Bar Special" which was a mango and strawberry frozen daiquiri. Delicious!! Highly recommend to wear your bathing suit under a change of clothes, I wish we did because I was itching to get into the water, but we had the Appleton Estate Rum Tour earlier that day and we were unsure if we could change. Next time, we definitely will.The Appleton Estate Rum Tour was also an amazing experience! We got to learn the entire rum making process and got to sample along the way! I don't want to spoil too much of the process :)Randy, our private driver, was very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed and gave us a history of the island and helped us learn more!

The experience was really once in a lifetime - we got to hand feed hummingbirds and finches with the guidance of the team at the Sanctuary. It is a relatively small attraction but has beautiful views, and if you like birds and wildlife you will love this. Ellis Tours and Transfers were excellent too, our pick up arrived on time, and our driver was very accomodating, mentioning other attractions we could do as part of this trip if we had wanted to, but we also didn't feel any pressure to add anything on. Overall, we highly recommend!!
