What To Expect

Enjoy exploring the reefs of Jamaica for colorful fishes and marine life, including plants, fauna, and corals. You will be picked up at port via a private van, sized depending on the size of your group. You will explore the sights of the town aboard a glass-bottomed boat where you can see the underwater landscape before you go in the water. This offers spectacular views and is a favorite of kids.

Upon reaching the reefs you will be fitted with snorkel gear including a mask, snorkel, fins and life preserver jackets. Get a short briefing from the guide and off you go exploring the majestic views of the Caribbean Sea. You will see unique fish along with those you may know as angelfish, parrotfish, trumpet fish, stingrays, pufferfish, groupers and many more.

The basic, private snorkel includes a private tour for 1.5 hours at the reefs to see marine life. The tour is best for groups and families who just want to do some snorkeling activity as a private group. Although this tour doesn't include food, you will be taken to a lunch stop where you can purchase lunch.

Q: Can I go snorkeling if I cannot swim?
A:

Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Montego Bay snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.

Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:

  1. You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
  2. On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
  3. There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.

For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.

The snorkel gear we use on Cool Montego Bay tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour.
