This Maroon settlement is perched high up in the mountains of the bread-basket parish of St. Elizabeth. These Maroons are descendants of former runaway slaves who fled the slave plantations of Jamaica to form their communities.Living on lands granted under a treaty with the British, the maroons continue to practice and enjoy the traditional customs handed down by their forefathers.
